That’s a shot of Bey before taking to the stage at today’s TIDAL X: 1015 concert in New York City, and you can tell that swooping hoop arrangement is pretty intricate – and most definitely attached to her actual ear.

We understand your mate Bryce cut his knuckle open on the rim of his snare drum during that blast-beat section, and we remember the time Alice sprained her ankle walking an amp down the stairs. On-stage mishaps occur all the bloody time – but having a whole family of earrings ripped out on-stage is something else.

If you watch very carefully, you’ll also see her actually flick the blood off her hand and into the smoke – like she’s in the middle of some sacred incantation. That’s not just a smooth action to play off legitimate pain, it’s a fucking baller move:
