Now here’s a nice little ditty to help ease you into a chilly, gloomy Friday.
Obscenely talented and exceedingly young geniuses Allday & Asta had their turn in the well travelled Like a Version chairs on Triple J earlier this morning.
Rather than tackle a cover in a faithful, as-recorded manner, they went down a decidedly softer, dreamier path, and the results are bloody stunning, to be perfectly frank.
Taking the rollicking 80s joy of Whitney Houston‘s 1987 stone cold classic “I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)” and stripping the track right back to some lightly played piano and guitar lines and throwing in some choice Allday verses over the top of Asta’s flooringly incredible voice.
This is a good’un, friends. A real, real good’un.
