We’ve known for a while that Adele’s pipes contain a time-warp back to 70’s vocal virtuosity, but it’s only now that her music videos truly seem to have caught up on that nostalgic feel.
After her hazy, dusty turn on Hello utterly obliterated hearts (and YouTube view counts), the absolute gun has debuted the clip for Send My Love (To Your Lover) at the Billboard Music Awards.
And, boy oh boy, you better believe it riffs heavily on the music vids of yesteryear. The vibe. That dress. The spectral overlays. The sashaying, by God, the sashaying:
It’s honestly bloody hypnotic. Like she needed another method of enthralling us mere mortals, but w/e.
Despite cleaning up at the awards, Adele wasn’t present due to tour commitments, but she was obvs there in spirit.
