WATCH: 50 Cent Reviewing Jay Z’s ‘4:44’ Is Music Criticism At Its Most Pure

50 Cent‘s performative Instagram diatribes are a wholly strange format completely unique to him.
Consider the fact that in them he is holding the camera himself, aiming the front facing lens directly at his own head. By all rights this should mean it’s a monologue. But that he then somehow delivers his uninterrupted speech without *really* looking into the camera, and while addressing people out-of-shot like he’s talking to them.
Is it a vlog? Is it staged candid conversation? Is it a modern spin on the theatrical soliloquy? Whatever it is, it’s the good shit, baby. The good, really good, good shit.
Fiddy’s newest instalment in “50 Cent Says The Darndest Shit” concerns Jay Z‘s newly released album ‘4:44.’
The overall impression? The album was good, but 50 thinks it might’ve been a bit too smart for its own good. He rails against the LP as being “golf course music,” asserting that he feels like he needed “glasses” or a sweater around the waist in order to listen to it.
The real solid line from the vid comes when he ethers Jay by informing him “you can’t be the best rapper at 47.”
Y I K E S.

Pitchfork gave the album an 8.4.
Frankly, we trust 50’s opinion more on this one.
