Warp Films Announce Theatrical Release Of All Tomorrow’s Parties

When it comes to the etymology of All Tomorrow’s Parties first there was the Velvet Underground track, then there was the music festival, then there was the documentary about the music festival named for the Velvet Underground track. We’re talking about the latter. Described as a “semi-found multi media bricolage shot by over two hundred filmmakers, fans and musicians over the festival’s recent history” All Tomorrow’s Parties uses artist interviews, fan footage and live performances to detail the most meticulously curated festival in the world. The film first premiered at SXSW in 2009 but two years later the folk at Warp Films are presenting the Australian theatrical release with national screenings in June and a DVD release in July.

The film features appearances from Belle And Sebastian, Grizzly Bear, Sonic Youth, Battles, Portishead, Daniel Johnston, Grinderman, David Cross, Animal Collective, The Boredoms, Les Savy Fav, Mogwai, Slint, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Gossip, GZA, Seasick Steve, Iggy and the Stooges, Fuck Buttons, Shellac, Patti Smith and John Cooper Clarke.
