Victoria Beckham has put your hopes and dreams of a complete Spice Girls reunion in the bin by confirming she won’t be making a cameo in the girl group’s upcoming tour.
Back in November, the Spice Girls – minus Posh – finally announced they’d be going on a reunion tour and blessed the UK with a bunch of dates. At the time, Posh posted a piccie of the official tour promotion on Instagram to share her support for her girls… and to confirm she wouldn’t be joining them.
“Today marks a special day for the girls as they announce the first tour dates since we performed together in 2012!” she wrote. “I won’t be joining my girls on stage again but being in the Spice Girls was a hugely important part of my life and I wish them so much love and fun as they go back on tour next year. I know they will put on an amazing show and the fantastic fans past and present are going to have a wonderful time! X vb”
Sure, this was a bit of a blow to the fans but many held out hope thinking – as one would – that maybe Posh would make a fabulous cameo.
Alas, it is not to be.
In an in depth interview with The Guardian about her global fashion brand, her family, and her general unstoppable aura, Beckham was asked about the possible cameo.
“No. Definitely not,” she answered simply.
“Not at all,” Beckham continued when asked if this was a difficult decision to make. “What I do now is my passion and a full-time job. I’m excited to see it, though. And I’m sure when I’m there and they are on stage, there will be a part of me that feels a bit left out. Because even after all this, a part of me will always be a Spice Girl.”
Hey, at least we might cop a backstage reunion piccie.
