Sorry Folks, Victoria Beckham Says That Spice Girls Reunion Ain’t Happening

Sorry, folks, but your girl Victoria Beckham has poured cold water all over those rumours of a Spice Girls reunion tour, telling fashion bible Vogue that it’s definitely not on the cards.

Gossip monsters TMZ broke the story this week, claiming that “sources” had informed them that the Spice Girls were exploring “merchandising opportunities” ahead of a planned UK and US tour.

Speaking to UK Vogue to preview her upcoming autumn / winter 2018 collection, Beckham conclusively shut that idea down, saying: “I’m not going on tour. The girls aren’t going on tour.”

The five recently got together at Geri Horner‘s country house, and when asked what they were doing there, Beckham replied:

“It was so great to see the girls. We had such a fun lunch. It was really, really, really lovely. I still speak to them all individually, but for us all to get together was really lovely … There’s something so strong in the message of what the Spice Girls stood for. What is that in the future? What does that look like? We were just bouncing ideas around. Brainstorming.”

While she didn’t specify what, if anything, the five are planning, she hinted that there may be some kind of a future for the Spice Girls “brand”, saying:

“It’s a positive thing … You know, there’s so much bad stuff going on, and the Spice Girls were about fun and celebrating individuality. I think there’s so much that the brand can do, and it’s such a positive message for young kids. What does that look like in the future? It’s not me in a cat-suit.”

I guess it’s still theoretically possible that the group might be reuniting for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s wedding, but we’ll have to wait and see.
