Enter Vans’ Musicians Wanted Comp If You’re Keen To Be Yeeted On Stage With Yungblud

Contributor: Anita Anabel

There have been two times in my life where I wished I could sing. The first was when I auditioned for the Australian Girls Choir when I was 12 and the second time is right this second because Vans is giving one lucky musician or group the chance to perform with YUNGBLUD.

While I do play a mean triangle, Vans Musicians Wanted is looking for actual undiscovered and up-and-coming artists to share their musical genius with the world and while there’s no way that I have a hope in hell, those with actual talent are encouraged to apply.

If you’re a singer, a rapper, a drummer or even a flautist (Lizzo need not apply) you can enter for your chance to win. In epic news, you will be judged by Yungblud, Denzel Curry, Julia Michaels and Sean Miyashiro of 88rising, who will then pick a final five to perform in a digital battle on September 22 for the grand prize. And as an added bonus, all content created will be posted and shared on the official  Vans website, plus all of their social platforms, ready to yeet you into the spotlight.

Applications open on July 7 and close on July 23. Most importantly, you must be over 18 by July 23rd to enter and you’re not allowed to send in a cover of someone else’s song.

How Do I Submit My Songs?

You can submit two tracks via links to your music profile through YouTube, Soundcloud, or other like streaming platforms listed on the submission form.

Can I Submit Even If I’ve Submitted In the Past?

According to the FAQs, if you were not selected as a finalist and / or previous winner, you can submit your music again.

How Will My Song Be Judged?

There are four criteria you’ll be judged on.

  1. Off The Wall – does your music fit with Vans’ ethos and brand culture?
  2. Originality – uniqueness, creativity and expression.
  3. Technical Quality – lyricism, instrumentation, and production.
  4. Stage Presence – energy and engagement.

Vans is all about giving people their big break so if this opportunity strikes a chord, you should definitely sign up.

And just a reminder, if you win, remember me when you’re famous. Go make mama proud!
