How do you know if someone’s been to Burning Man?

THEY’LL TELL YOU FOR THE REST OF YOUR DAMN LIFE.

I mean look, I get it – it’s a ~cultural experience~ like no other and getting tickets is a real feat in and of itself. There are specific purchasing dates and times leading up to the event, and should you score some tix it’s going to set you back anywhere from $600 to $1,700. Dates for 2019 are locked in, so expect the ticket windows to be released any day now here.

If you’re a celebrity who hasn’t been to this renowned fezzy, well I guess you’re not a celebrity as far as I’m concerned. The Colorado Desert event was home to a Destiny’s Child reunion, a very preggo Cardi B and even Yodelling Boy this year. Basically, you know you’re getting bang for your buck.

Coachella‘s already sold out for 2019 (shock horror), however, you can bet your mum’s life (don’t) that they’ll be selling the 2020 tix around May 2019. You’re looking at about $550+ for General Admission tix, so plan accordingly. Oh, and if you can’t be assed paying, Ultimate Ears is throwing a comp.

If you buy a BOOM 3 or MEGABOOM3 you can win first-weekend tix to Coachella for you and three people you like enough to bring along. Enter here between October 1, 2018 – January 31, 2019. There are weekly prizes too, like $300 Ticketek vouchers.

Lollapalooza (which is almost as fun to say as yogalates) helms eight stages, over 170 musical acts from around the globe – ranging through the genres of popular alternative rock, heavy metal, punk rock, hip-hop and electronic music – and has iterations in Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Berlin, Sweden, France and Germany  too.

Do you know how many major musicians were discovered at SXSW? Do you? I’ll tell you. A lot. The likes of Katy Perry, Amy Winehouse and Hanson (yes that Hanson, bite me) all graced the stages of the annual conglomerate of film, interactive media, and music festivals / conferences since it began in 1987.

Registration to attend the 2019 10-day event is now open here, with ticket prices ranging from around $485 Aussie dollars up to $1,600. Can you put a price on being able to say you saw someone like Britney Spears before she was famous?

No.
