Tyler, The Creator Joins The Timothée Chalamet Fan Club In New Track ‘OKRA’

There’s a lot happening in the music and film world these days. A Quiet Place is coppin’ hella good reviews, The Weeknd released an album titled My Dear Melancholy that’ll summon your high-school inner emo, and now Tyler, The Creator has given a sweet shout-out to actor Timothée Chalamet in his new song, OKRA.

If you haven’t heard the track yet, you can wrap your ears around it below.

The song itself is absolute fire and the video’s insane so nobody’s surprised that it’s already trending at the number 3 spot on Youtube. No biggie.

Naturally, fans were living for the rapper’s latest single until they realised the lyrics collided with Call Me By Your Name breakout star, Timothée Chalamet and everybody lost their shit even more.

The lyrics come right at the beginning of verse three and go like this,

“Tell Tim Chalamet to come get at me, skin glowin’, clear of acne
Diamonds see-through, so holographic
Red Ones look like Aidan Mackey, spent dinero like Taxi Driver
Handmade is that thing with tires but I rode the bike…”

Same.

Then Timothée Chalamet replied with a simple retweet of the below.

Naturally, Twitter had a lot of feelings about this.

If you haven’t been keeping up with everything-Timothée, the 22 year-old has stolen a bunch of hearts after his performance in the love-story Call Me By Your Name starring opposite Armie Hammer. Timothée was so bloody good in it he earned himself an Oscar nomination for best male lead and took home an award at the 2018 Spirit Awards for the same category. He did dab coming up to accept his award but people still love him.

Meanwhile, as Tyler blows us away with OKRA, let’s just take another moment to appreciate this magazine cover.

Tyler, The Creator in Comme des GarçonsThat is all.

It’s worth mentioning that last year, Tyler released an album called ‘Scum Fuck, Flower Boy’. In the song, Garden Shed he raps,

“Garden shed for the garçons
Them feelings I was guardin’
Heavy on my mind
All my friends lost
They couldn’t read the signs
I didn’t wanna talk and tell ’em my location
And they ain’t wanna walk
Truth is, since a youth kid, thought it was a phase
Thought it’d be like the Frank, poof, gone
But, it’s still goin’ on…”

Fans interpreted that as Tyler coming out while others believed Tyler to just be joking around because he has been sort of doing that the past few years. He’s also known to have used some highly bigoted language about the LGBTQI community in the past which is never okay, even if he did identify as a gay man. A year later, fans are still speculating with Tyler never having officially confirmed or denied the news which is cool, it is his life and so completely up to him. Let’s just hope he’s not queer-baiting.
