Here’s the new video for “I Can Talk” by criminally catchy Irish trio/recent Kitsune signings Two Door Cinema Club. We interviewed the lads last year and they’ve obviously studied the “lovelorn nerds who can dance” blueprint pioneered by Hot Chip. Theirs of course is a catchier, younger prototype with slightly less facial hair.
For fans of inventive editing the video comes courtesy of visual lords Megaforce ( Metronomy, Late Of The Pier) and mirrors TDCC’s youthful chug with playful decapitations and cubby houses. In other words this is more infectious than Malaria and even detractors of the boggy mire that is now indie-dance, a genre Two Door Cinema Club so unashamedly pulls from, will be bouncing around the room like it’s 2004.
