Troye Sivan Drops 2nd Syd Show And Tells Us Why He’s Donating To Minus 18 & Beyond Blue

It’s been a couple of long-ass years since Troye Sivan returned back to us, and not only is he whipping around the country in September, he’s just announced a second and final show in Sydney.

He announced the new show this morning with quite possibly the cutest montage of Bébé Troye on his way to being a massive popstar.

I mean would this wee lad have any idea he’d be playing shows in California with Robyn and collabing with Charli XCX by his twenties?

Returning to the Hordern Pavilion for another night smack bang in the middle of his Aussie leg of The Bloom Tour, Troye will spend his sacred Saturday night smashing through all his huge hits like ‘My My My‘, ‘1999‘, and ‘WILD‘ – I mean it’s obvious that it’s going to be a hell of a party.

“At this point I really do feel like the shows are as much about what’s happening offstage as what’s happening onstage,” Troye tells me.

Like, the energy in the crowd and people are coming in these like crazy, dressed-up looks, and they make out with people and they meet their best friends that they’ve never met before but they’ve spoken to on Twitter for three years – it’s just such cool stuff happening.

The new show will also be joining the rest of the tour in raising money for Minus18 and Beyond Blue, two not-for-profit initiatives that Troye tells me were vital in supporting him before he came out publicly in 2013.

“The special thing about coming back to Australia is that it’s organisations that I have a really personal connection with,” Troye says.

I spent a lot of time on the Minus18 website and Facebook page and stuff like that when I was closeted and terrified and didn’t know where else to turn. I just think that they’re such important organisations and really, you kind of can’t quantify how important they are and how important the work they do is.

So now to have this really insane opportunity to get all these people together, I just wanted to just organise some sort of give-back opportunity.

Tickets for the final Sydney show go on sale from 10am Monday July 22 through the Live Nation website.
