HERE WE GO.
And Triple J‘s location for this year’s One Night Stand is… Mount Isa.
The North Queensland mining town has most recently made headlines for poor air quality that poisons its residents (lead), leading to some residents acquiring brain damage or blood poisoning.
The population of this town – which Triple J says is roughly the size of Switzerland and has more roads underground than above – has been waiting 11 years for Mount Isa Mines to release a report into lead contamination, which has now put the onus back on residents to clean their homes.
Still, One Night Stand should cheer them up!
Triple J announced the news this morning. San Cisco, Tash Sultana, The Smith Street Band and Thundamentals will all be hitting up Mount Isa this Saturday 22 April.
