Trailer: The Phoenix Band Doco Is Coming

The widespread popularity of Parisian four-piece Phoenix has eclipsed that of their fellow French-nationalists Air and Daft Punk thanks to their mastery of infectious-as-herpes guitar hooks and foppish French handsomeness. It’s likely that there will be a lot of interest in From a Mess to the Masses – a 52-minute documentary that follows the band during their wildly successful Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix world tour.

Co-directed by Francisco Soriano and Antoine Wagner (who directed the band’s “Lisztomania” video), the footage mixes live concert footage with stylish black and white photography reminiscent of Nouvelle Vague cinema. Very good looking. Very ‘French’. There’s no word yet as to whether From a Mess to the Masses is bound for Australian cinemas, but in the meantime you can watch the trailer below:
