Get Your First Booze-Soaked Look At Totally Unicorn’s Fresh New Video Clip

Sydney metal weirdos Totally Unicorn released a brand new song recently, featuring a groove so hard it’ll knock your spine into oblivion. Today, they slung us the video for that song, titled ‘Grub‘, which is every bit as wild as it sounds.

Directed and edited by Josh Mehmet (cinematography by DK Robinson), the clip features lead singer, Drew Gardiner, on a backdrop of pure 80s nostalgia, going absolutely hell for leather on some tall frosty beers.

“Part Tim & Eric episode, part vaporwave odyssey, seemingly straight from a VHS tape – the clip is every bit as weird as you would expect,” the video’s description reads. “With two Drews singing, dancing and trying to out-drink each other, the track’s theme of “the lure of vices” comes through as we witness pints go down and come back up again.”

The absolute bloody mad dogs let us premiere the clip, so rather than waffle on any further, I’ll let you check it out for yourself below.

There are a variety of Aussie grubs lurching around the video, including a cheeky Todd Carney pissing into his own mouth. Classic gear. “It’s more or less about us being grubs but does feature some grubby greats,” Gardiner told PEDESTRIAN.TV.“No schooners were harmed in the making of the clip.”

According to Mehmet, the clip is all about “Australia’s relationship with boozing,” which, as it turns out, can be pretty complicated.

“Shooeys, Goon o’ Fortune…it’s all good and hilarious until you wake and realise that last night you pissed in your own mouth because you’re such a loose unit,” he said. “We idolise people like that. It’s seen as quality, even in our Prime Ministers, but should it be?”

Totally Unicorn is chucking a bit of a tour pretty soon, too, so head over to their Facebook page if you wanna check out one of the dates.
