Time To Fill A Frank Ocean-Sized Hole: Lorde Added To Splendour Line Up

After the traumatic news was gravely delivered yesterday afternoon that, no, Frank Ocean won’t be caressing crowds with sweet nothings and will be defining this year’s Splendour in The Grass as a searing memoir titled: That Time Frank Ocean Broke My Heart, Dreams and Weekend, festival organisers have done their best to fill the gaping Frank Ocean sized-hole in our hearts the festival line up by bumping up time slots and calling in New Zealand “no selfies” gurl Lorde to soften the ever so deafening blow.

Splendour in the Grass organisers expressed to festival goers that everyone was essentially being ungrateful little shits, and should remember that the festival can still be cool without Frank, you guys, so quite whining: “We do want to remind everyone that over 70 of the best acts in the world right now are still here and ready to go including our previously billed mystery band, Alt-J.”

Lorde expressed her excitement on Twitter at the news, the happiest girl among the broken wrecks taking on the heady emotions of a widow this weekend:
Despite the fact that Lorde is an exceptional act with throaty, honeyed vocals that will be a pure treat added to the bill, and “mystery” dudes Alt J will no doubt provide a killer set, attempting to fan the grief of hysterical Splendour goers is, at this point, kind of an insult. Nobody’s having a bite of it
Lorde will play at 5:30 pm on Sunday 28 July at the Supertop stage; Frank Ocean’s headlining spot will be filled by Icelandic band Of Monsters and Men.
