Three Hospitalised, Dozens Accused Of Drug Offenses At Future And Soundwave

There were a lot of music festivals held in Sydney over the weekend, and to the likely surprise of no-one, there were also a lot of people picked up for drug offenses, with police out in force at the Future Music, Soundwave and Secret Garden festivals.
Future Music was held at Randwick Racecourse yesterday, and per Fairfax, one festival-goer was taken to hospital in serious but stable condition, “suspected of being under the influence of a substance.”
Two others were taken to hospital with minor injuries, while 60 people were detected with drugs. NSW Police have not yet made clear whether any charges were or will be laid as a result.
Meanwhile, day one of the two-day Soundwave festival was held yesterday at Sydney Olympic Park, and also saw a heavy police presence, along with a drug dog operation.
One man was charged with drug supply, while 15 people were issued with field court attention notices, for a regular old cornucopia of drugs including ecstasy, cocaine, LSD, speed and cannabis.

Finally, at day one of the Secret Garden festival, held in Camden on Friday, 16 people were charged with drug offenses. Police carried out 60 vehicle searches and 163 personal searches.
