Then and Now: The Best Performances From The Voice’s Top Four

The always trilling and occasionally thrilling “journey” that has been The Voice comes to an end tonight with part one of two (it’s like The Deathly Hallows of singing) of the hotly-anticipated Grand Finale. That’s ‘finale’ not ‘final’ because we’re pulling out our fancy track-pants tonight!

As such, there’s no better time than now to look back over the past two months and relive the “journey” that #TheVoiceAu has been by taking a look back at some of the best performances from those people whose outfits we’ve judged, journey’s we’ve followed and coaches we’ve ridiculed. Journey.

Karise Eden – ‘It’s A Man’s World’ & ‘Hallelujah’

We first pegged Karise as a one to watch back in EP01 as the girl with the troubled childhood and the white Aretha voice that gave errbody goosebumps. Karise is the hot favourite going in tonight, regardless of her lack of pulling power on the #socialmedias. Karise also makes my mum cry, so you know, there’s that.

Rachael Leahcar – ‘La Vie En Rose’ and ‘Nights In White Satin’

Leahcar was one of the show’s biggest draw cards from the beginning, and with good reason. Rachael Leahcar is reality TV gold and if she doesn’t take the trophy home tomorrow you know she’s got an Anthony Callea style single waiting for her on the other side. She also has a lovely singing voice and is adorable:

Darren Percival – ‘Jealous Guy’ and ‘A Song For You’

Darren – and I feel like I can just call him Darren – has charmed the pants off Australia, which isn’t easy, because Australia is a notoriously conservative when it comes to taking its pants off. Kinda feel sorry for Daz going into the GF tonight, but I take comfort in the fact that there’s a slot as the support act on Keith Urban’s upcoming Australian tour for him. Jealous, guys:

Sarah De Bono – ‘Price Tag’ and ‘Here’s Where I Stand’

In EP02, “alternate girl with bright red hair” Sarah De Bono got her kicks by standing in front of graffiti and singing Jessie J jams. Now it’s all Ellery and backing choirs and raining sparkles for SDB, who is undoubtedly the best-placed contestant in terms of international pulling-power (see: here):

The Voice Live Blog: Grand Finale Edition (now with Official @TheVoiceAU backing!) commences tonight at 7.30pm AEST. BYO A-Game. We’ll be live-blogging and live-tweeting and probably live-drinking up a storm, so do join us!
