Thelma Plum Returns After Four Years With New Single & Solo Aus Tour

It’s been four years since we last heard her silky vocals on her own tracks, but 2018 marks the return of Thelma Plum with deliciously sweet Clumsy Love

Recorded between Sydney and London, the single delves into facets of Plum’s life from the last year – one that has not been without turbulence and upheaval – and coming out the other side with Clumsy Love.

The year just gone has been a really rough one for me and Clumsy Love is my reflections on that – and I have to say I am far happier with the song than with the memories.

The track itself is classic Thelma Plum, upbeat, intricate and personal, a sweet melody with a distinct venomous bite that hits when you’re mindlessly bopping along.

There’s something inherently spectacular in the way Plum’s honeyed vocals deliver curse words; it’s like you’ve been lulled into a sense of security before having the rug pulled out from underneath you – a moment of double-take when a sugary indie-folk-pop song chucks in a “fuck” with such sincerity and earnest.

Not only have we been treated today with a new offering from the Gamilaraay musician, but Plum has also announced a run of shows across Aus, hitting intimate venues across the country this August and September. Tickets are on sale now so if you wanna go get lost in Thelma Plum’s saccharine universe, hop to it.
