The Veronicas Copped A Wall Of Death At Good Things & I Fkn Wish I Chucked A Sickie Today

the veronicas wall of death

Good Things Festival officially kicked off in Melbourne today, and I don’t mean to alarm you but there was a fucking WALL OF DEATH during The Veronicas’ set.

The Veronicas (Jess and Lisa Origliasso) are Australian music royalty, and ‘Untouched’ might as well be the emo national anthem at this point. So it’s hardly surprising that some serious shit went down at Flemington Racecourse today.

Although it is my firm believe that ‘Untouched’ is far from The Veronicas’ best song (4Ever, Everything I’m Not and Revolution deserve some respect), it is still an absolute banger and I’m feeling some serious FOMO that I am currently sitting at my desk instead of at Good Things.

We already knew the wall of death was going to happen because The Veronicas shared it this morning, but that doesn’t make it any less incredible.

When The Veronicas blessed us with the certified banger™ that is ‘Untouched’ back in 2007, I don’t think any of us could’ve imagined a goddamn wall of death. But here we are.

It’s 2019 and The Veronicas are giving us walls of death at Flemington Racecourse.

I’m not quite sure how The Veronicas managed to pull off a comeback like this without turning into a total joke, but they have, and I am here for it. All hail The Veronicas.

12 years after its debut in 2007, ‘Untouched’ is still a banger and I’m glad it’s getting a second life.

But if you thought a wall of death was the best part of their set, you are sorely mistaken. They also covered ‘I Miss You’ by Blink-182, and sent the whole  audience into a further state of emo.

DONT WASTE YERRR TIIIMEE ON MEEE, YOU’RE ALL READYYY THE VOICE INSIDE MYYYY YEAADDDD

I’m a little disappointed that Mark Hoppus (who’s playing with his side-project Simple Creatures) didn’t pop in for guesties, but I’ll take what I can get.

We are simply not worthy of this greatness.

The day is still young, and honestly I’m still waiting for The Veronicas to jump in on guest vocals when The Beautiful Monument (hopefully) cover ‘Untouched’ again later this afternoon.

The Veronicas are and always will be God’s gift to the Australian music scene.
