A fortnight ago Pedestrian gazed into the murky crystal ball hidden in our psychic chest of treasures and posted a 2010 Splendour In The Grass lineup prediction that featured Bat For Lashes, The Strokes, LCD Soundsystem and Hot Chip. Only time will tell whether we’re Nostradamus or Goss-tradamus but while we’re waiting here’s another band to add to the rumour pile – The Temper Trap.
Here’s why: The UK-residing Melburnians and sires of the greatest gift to advertising since artistic nudity have recently announced a national tour covering Perth, Sydney and Melbourne as well as a trans-Tasman jaunt in Auckland. More importantly for Splendour lineup speculators, the four day gap between their July 27th Sydney show and their August 1st Auckland show dovetails perfectly with this year’s Splendour dates (Friday 30th July to Sunday 1st August). That’s a convenient little tour reprieve don’t you think? Just enough time to play a triumphant homecoming set and kick out a festival anthem or ten. We certainly hope so.
