The Strokes Confirm New Album In The Works

It’s been confirmed that The Strokes are working on a new studio album, following last year’s long-awaited fourth record, Angles.

Rumours that the leather aficionados were in the process of working on new material was dispelled weeks ago by The Strokes’ management, only to be confirmed by guitarist Albert Hammond Junior‘s father Albert Hammond Senior (obviously).

Like any proud Strokes fan/parent, Albert Hammond Senior is pumped to see what the band come up with, telling NME: “I don’t think they’ll go in a wildly different direction. Obviously the songs will be different, but I think The Strokes are The Strokes; they always will be The Strokes.” Preach, Al Senior.

The band are recording at the famous Electric Lady Studios in their hometown of New York City but little else is known about the album at this stage. We’ll keep our ears open for more details as they surface. In the meantime here is a video that might be of interest.
