The Middle East Announce Split At Splendour

Australia’s second hardest band to Google have called it quits, announcing their split mid-set at Splendour In The Grass. Despite a few more albums (and ad syncs) in front of them, The Middle East preempted media speculation of a split telling fans it would be their “last show ever” before bidding adieu with set highlight and the most promising manifestation of their collective powers to date, “Blood”. This marks the second split for the band who parted ways in 2008 only to reassemble for debut EP The Recordings Of The Middle East. The band are survived by one album (I Want That You Are Always Happy, released this year), one EP and the most winsome stop motion clip we’ve ever.
