The Flaming Lips have turned their Soft Bulletin opener “Race for the Prize” into a soaring theme song for their local NBA team, the Oklahoma City Thunder. Renamed “Thunder Up: Race for the Prize”, the song features OKC lyrics crowd sourced from Twitter then rendered in the scratchy falsetto of frontman Wayne Coyne, a force which might not compete with the “Niggas In Paris” intro that they have on loop in every NBA arena in America, but which is infinitely cooler than whatever Jeremy Lin’s listening to at the moment.
