Nowhere is the link between music and fashion more apparent than Saint Augustine Academy. In February the Sydney label outfitted Laneway artists Ariel Pink, Two Door Cinema Club, Beach House and Foals and today they welcomed NYC Smiths revivalists The Drums who sat front row at their day five RAFW show.
After the show we spoke with The Drums frontman Jonathan Pierce (pictured above with SAA designer Alvin Manalo and bandmate Jacob Graham) who said a collaboration between the two might be imminent: “SAA is the only show we’ve seen. We just flew in last night and went straight to the showroom. The capri pants, military shirt, backpack and army hat was my favourite look. I would’ve gone crazy on that! I guess I have to wait until it hits stores, it’s probably just samples at this point. We love SAA and we want to do the soundtrack for their next show.”
