The Avalances Confoundingly Release ‘New Mix’ From 2006

The Avalanches clearly enjoy fucking with their fans. Every time the band says boo there is a domino-like ecstatic reaction across the Internet’s music networks until it turns out to be just another sonic dick tease. Like today, The Avalanches announced there is “a new mix up” on the band website, which we assumed might have something to do with the often promised but never delivered mythological follow-up to their only LP release Since I Left You. Turns out it’s the mix the performed at Splendor In The Grass and Meredith in 2006.

Will we ever learn? Trick me once, shame on you. Trick me twice, shame on me. Trick me three times, I am a certifiable chump, I guess.  Anyway, take a listen because it’s an inspiring set in which the KLF, The Sound Of Music and Gnarls Barkley are broken out within the first 15 seconds.
