Over 150,000 fans waited on the YouTube premiere page, which might not sound like much but the clip came out at 8:15AM on the other side of the world… on a Monday.

The anti-hate anthem’s music video boasts an incredible cast including [inhales deeply] Katy Perry (drama well and truly over), Ellen Degeneres, Ryan Reynolds, Laverne Cox, RuPaul, Ciara, Adam Rippon, Todrick Hall, Dexter Mayfield, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and his husband Justin Mikita, Adam Lambert, Hanna Hart, Hayley Kiyoko, Billy Porter, Chester Lockhart, Queer Eye angels Tan France, Karamo Brown, Jonathan Van Ness, Antoni Porowski and Bobby Berk. That’s not even the whole cast either.

There were also a bunch of homophobes in the video… you’ll see.

Extreme celeb presence aside, the video ended with a message: “Let’s show our pride by demanding that, on a national level, our laws truly treat all of our citizens equally.” The words were followed by a change.org petition in support of the Equality Act in the US. Close to 200,000 people have already signed the petition.

‘You Need To Calm Down’ is off Swift’s upcoming and extremely hyped album Lover, which will be released come August 23.

“I want to say that my co-stars in this video are AMAZING. Please celebrate by supporting their work, following them, and going to see them perform. I’m SO grateful and SO EXCITED I ACTUALLY DO NEED TO CALM DOWN,” the artist tweeted following the premiere.
