Tame Impala Take Out J Award

Perth psych-lords Tame Impala have taken out the J Award for Australian Album of the Year at a ceremony held last night at the Ding Dong Lounge in Melbourne. The quartet’s debut LP, Innerspeaker, beat out the likes of Sia, Washington, Cloud Control, Bliss N Eso and Angus & Julia Stone who took out the Best Album gong at the ARIAs earlier this year. Other winners included Unearthed Artist of the Year Boy & Bear and Mairi Cameron and Stephen Lance who took out Australian Video of the Year for Washington’s Godard-inspired clip for “Sunday Best”.
