Syd’s Lansdowne Hotel Is Open For Biz + Tonight’s Lineup Won’t Be Repeated

The day has finally come: almost two years after it shut up shop, beloved Sydney cesspit the Lansdowne Hotel has risen from the ashes like a beautiful, munted phoenix.
Only it’s no longer a cesspit, having been given a complete facelift by new owners Jake Smyth and Kenny Graham, of Mary’s and The Unicorn
While the beer and piss-soaked carpet and peeling wallpaper are a distant memory, one thing that isn’t going nowhere is its reputation as a fucking ~killer~ live music venue.
There’s so much hype around the line-up for the Lansdowne’s boonta opening weekend (it runs from tonight through to Saturday) that the lads are keeping the acts set to perform each night under wraps until an hour before they hit the stage.

STAGE IS SET TIX ON SALE FROM 5pm ON DOOR ONLY $10 OUR VERY SPECIAL BAND ANNOUNCED AT 7PM! Just fucking get here!!!

What we can fill you in on, though, is tonight’s big surprise: in one hour from now, at around 8pm, a supergroup made up of Elliott Hammond and Michael Tramonte (The Delta Riggs)Thomas Champion (The Preatures)Paddy CornwallSeamus Coyle and Daniel “Freddy Crabs” Neurath (Sticky Fingers) will christen the massive gig area upstairs.
A FRIGGIN’ SUPERGROUP YOU WILL NOT SEE OR HEAR AGAIN. A once-bloody-off.
Add to that guest vocals from Sam Margin of The Rubens, Joyride, Tony Hughes of King Tide, Hayley Mary of Jezebels, Gideon Benson and Jordan Sly and you’re in for one hell of a night, fam.
If you can’t make tonight’s blowout, never fear: Friday and Saturday, though still hush-hush, promise to be just as big. (And we promise to keep you updated).
Tickets for each night of opening weekend will be available for $10 on the door from 5pm and it’s first in, best dressed, so move your butts.
WELCOME BACK, THE LANNY. How we’ve missed thee.
You can find The Lansdowne at 2-6 City Road, Chippendale.
