Stream Me Up Scotty: Washington, Jonti, Dick Diver, Twerps

We’ve assembled your weekend locals only playlist thanks to a) the power of embed codes b) the way music is marketed in 2011 and C) four different but equally awesome Australian artists. First up is sleep deprived chanteuse Washington who follows breakthrough LP I Believe You Liar with eight track mini album Insomnia. She said of her sleep deprivation earlier this year: “I’ve gone completely bananas. I’ve been an insomniac now for about a year and it’s actually quite extreme. It makes you crazy. It’s fucked up.” And of the benefits: “I’ve been hugely creative because I’m just sort of living in this weird state of hallucination”. Sounds fun? Elsewhere, Melbourne labelmates Dick Diver and Twerps are streaming new albums in New Start Again and Twerps. Guess which is which then stream both via our pals at Chapter Music. Finally, ex-Djanimal, Hodgy Beats collaborator and Mark Ronson acquaintance Jonti is streaming debut record Twirligig which is out now via Mistletone and US imprint Stones Throw. We premiered his ‘Frightened Mice’ video last week and the same ordered chaos can be found within. Enjoy!

Twerps – Twerps (Chapter Music/Underwater Peoples)

Dick Diver – New Start Again (Chapter Music/Fuse)

Jonti – Twirligig (Mistletone/Stones Throw)
