Sophie Monk 100% Wants To Make A Musical Comeback & Our Ears Are Ready

Sophie Monk is what we in the biz call a ‘triple threat’ (note: I don’t know which biz I am referring to and, regardless, I am definitely not in it) – she can sing, she can act and she’s way, way funnier than anyone who has been on a reality TV show deserves to be.

Following her tenure in Bardot and her solo album Calendar Girl, Monk seemingly gave up music for a career in TV, but from the sound of it, she’s awful keen to get back into the game.

Earlier in the year she hopped up on stage at Byron Bay Bluesfest with Kasey Chambers to sing harmony on Chambers’ track The Captain, something she was just reminiscing about a few weeks back:

Not at all astonishingly, Monk still has a bloody phenomenal set of pipes:

Curious about whether this is something she’s looking at doing more often again, we decided to try find out the most direct way possible: by asking her.

First we managed to run into her mate Kasey Chambers on the ARIAs red carpet, who had a bunch of lovely things to say about her:

We hang out all the time and we jam a lot, she’s just one of my favourite people. She’s a beautiful, beautiful harmony singer as well, I don’t think people really get to hear that of her. We jam a bit just like hanging out at home, daggy vibes. I’ve got a swag of songs for her.

Next, we ran into Sophie herself, who said she’s heard the songs and she’s mad keen:

Totally, she sent them to me and they’re awesome. I don’t know how the audience will take to it but I love her to death.
