So Many Awesome Bands Are Playing At The Opera House This Summer

Ascending up the ranks of the most #Sydney things you could do this summer – 1) beach yoga 2) mainlining Messina 3) hitting a cyclist with your car – is the increasingly on-point summertime contemporary music program from the Sydney Opera House, Music At The House
From December until April, Music at the House will present 20 performances by some of the world’s most celebrated artists including but not limited to Mogwai, Caribou, Flying Lotus, Lykke Li, Little Dragon, Sinéad O’Connor, Rodrigo Y Gabriela and a special presentation of In Dreams: David Lynch Revisited, a collaborative tribute to the indelible music of Twin Peaks, Mulholland Drive, Blue Velvet and Eraserhead, featuring Australia’s own Mick Harvey (ex-Bad Seeds), Sophia Brous (Brous), and more.
“From Caribou to Max Richter and Neneh Cherry to Lykke Li, Music at the House aims to elevate the contemporary music experience for audiences and artists alike by championing extraordinary new artists and celebrating legendary ones in perhaps the most iconic venue in the world – a venue that traditionally hosts orchestras, operas and ballets,” Ben Marshall, Head of Contemporary Music at Sydney Opera House, said. “Working side by side with our fellow festivals, promoters and Sydney’s thriving music community – including artists, labels, venues and audiences – we are incredibly proud to be playing our part in making Sydney an increasingly vibrant city for music-makers and music-lovers.”
