SO FETCH: Tina Fey Confirms ‘Mean Girls: The Musical’ Is 100% Gonna Happen

Quoting Mean Girls is a sport. It’s an artform. It’s a national pastime. It’s life.

Can you imagine, then, the lyricism of Kevin G‘s rap IRL or a ballad dedicated to the failed introduction of the word ‘Fetch’ by a pseudo-Gretchen Weiners? IMAGINE NO MORE.
Tina Fey has gone and made sense of the world by *finally* confirming the Mean Girls musical is legit, 100%, no-kidding-around happening.
When asked by an audience member of a Times Talk for her new film, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, whether she’s still working on the project, Fey uttered glorious confirmation: “Yes. It is happening. It’s only… years away.”
Fey also said she’s rn writing the script with her husbo, composer Jeff Richmond, and Nell Benjamin, who helped adapt ‘Legally Blonde’ into a musical.
This is big news for Plastics fans, ‘cos rumours of a musical adaptation originally started swirling in 2014 – it’s been a long wait, and we’ve eaten god knows how many Kalteen bars in nervous anticipation.
If you want to actually watch Fey confirm the news, head to 11:30 of the talk below:

THANK YOU FOR BEING A PUSHER, TINA FEY.
