As many of you will be fully aware, one of the great pains of living in a regional centre is that fun stuff tends to stick to major cities. Bands seldom tour the far, far corners of the country, meaning semi-frequent (expensive) trips to the big smoke need to be made in order to take in anything vaguely good. Fortunately, The Smith Street Band just announced a dizzyingly extensive tour that’ll almost guarantee you’ll be able to catch a show and put yr head on yr own pillow again that same night.
The relentlessly touring Melbourne outfit has lifted the lid on one last giant lap of Australia before they retreat into recording mode for a follow-up to 2017’s More Scared of You Than You Are of Me LP.
In addition to their own Pool House Party festival in Melbourne, set to take over the Coburg Velodrome in March, the band will embark on a giant 26-date tour that takes in cities and centres in every state and territory of the nation.
Along for practically the entire ride is Sydney’s very good Bec Sandridge, and rollicking Melbourne upstarts Press Club, who already count support slots for Japandroids and Joyce Manor on their incredibly new resume.
