And the magic number is three. Splendour-bound Seeker Lover Keeper, better known as Oz pop triumvirate Sarah Blasko, Holly Throsby and Sally Seltmann, have premiered a trio of videos starring Aussie thespians Barry Otto, John Waters and Aden Young. When the supergroup first announced themselves via twitter last year we questioned how they would combine such distinctive voices, songwriters and styles to form one cohesive work. Judging from the songs’ credits (written by Thorsby//vocals by Blasko, written by Seltmann//vocals by Throsby, written by Throsby//vocals by Blasko) the M.O. is pretty simple. Write for another’s voice. There are at least three permutations of that M.O. left but for now the results are as charming and immediate as Barry Otto’s Thom Yorke circa “Lotus Flower” / Christopher Walke circa “Weapon of Choice” interpretive dancing.
Seeker Lover Keeper’s self-titled debut is out on June 3 via Dew Process/UMA.
