Seekae Sign To Rice Is Nice

Somebody call DOCS. Joining the likes of Spod, Talons, Traps and Miniature Submarines at the suspiciously and rapidly expanding Rice Is Nice family is criminally underexposed three-piece Seekae.

Since the independent release of their debut album ‘The Sound Of Trees Falling On People’ – an electronic amalgam of Boards Of Canada’s moody soundscapes, Aphex Twin’s experimentalism and Radiohead’s skittering beats the band have maintained a firm stranglehold on Sydney’s experimental electronic scene – and an even firmer one on my brain. My girlfriend plays the album religiously. And yet every time she does I discover unnoticed textures and fresh nuances in their promising debut.

Following a small break after the album’s release the boys are back with a limited edition “Seekae Remix EP” featuring remixes of Ghoul, Megastick Fanfare, Parades and Bearhug. The EP will receive an official launch on August 6th at Oxford Art Factory with supports from all the remixed artists: Ghoul, Megastick Fanfare, Parades and Bearhug. Fun for the whole family. If your family is cool with metaphysically traveling through time and space together.

If you can’t make it to the Sydney show you can catch Seekae in support of Decoder Ring at the following dates:

20 Aug – The Great Northern, Byron Bay
21 Aug – The Sound Lounge, Gold Coast
22 Aug – The Zoo Brisbane
28 Aug – The Metro, Sydney
5 Sep – Hi-Fi Bar & Ballroom, Melbourne
