Thank British guest vocalist Sampha who takes the conflicted emotion of Drake’s lyrics to heights even Dwight Howard couldn’t reach by crooning like his heart is bleeding and he’s about to die from blood loss.
That emotion is amplified further in Sampha’s stunning solo version of the single, which strips away the beat, Drizzy’s bars and all production artifice to conjure up a staggering slice of piano balladry that’s less about how dysfunctional Drake’s family is and more about whatever you want it to be (how much you miss you ex).
