The annual Brit Awards have been held in London overnight, honouring the best and brightest of British and international music talent. It’s the quaint English version of the Grammys, without the show-stopping douchebaggery.
Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran cleaned up at the Brit awards, with Ed Sheeran taking home both the coveted best album and Best Male Solo Artist. Uptown Funk, obviously, took home best single; while Sam Smith matched Sheeran’s two gongs by taking home Best Breakthrough Act and the Global Success Award. For reasons unbeknownst to man, One Direction took home Best Music Video and didn’t bother showing up to collect it.
These results are all, of course, irrelevant now: all eyes/all prayers are now on Midge after her spectacular, literal fall from grace during the night’s finale. Poor lamb. Blasted cape.
