Sam Smith All But Confirms He’s Doing The James Bond ‘Spectre’ Theme Song

As we get closer to Spectre’s November 6 release date, the question of who’ll be busting out the next James Bond theme song – and thereby sound-tracking another iconic opening sequence – is getting closer to being answered.

Sam Smith all but confirmed he’s doing the Spectre theme song by posting this photo to Instagram / Twitter:

That octopus / pitchfork hybrid engraving is actually the logo of criminal organisation SPECTRE – a.k.a. Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion, first seen in the 1962 film ‘Dr. No‘.

Coincidence? Probably not – Bond / Spectre theme song rumours have in the past attached themselves to Ellie Goulding and Adele (again), but either this image is blatantly rumour-mongering, or an official announcement from Bond HQ (MGM) will be following shortly.

He’s denied it before, but Sam Smith as a follow up to Adele’s 2012 Bond song ‘Skyfall‘ (which nabbed her an Oscar) makes perfect sense: he’s British, he looks dapper in a suit, and he attracts Grammy nominations like he’s award-specific magnetic field.

TBC (but basically C).
