Today in Things That Are Definitely Legit And Were Not Just Made Up By Rihanna’s Dad In Some Sort Of Fever Dream, Rihanna’s dad has claimed that Kanye West spends $US 500 a day on haircuts.
Ronald ‘Turtle’ Fenty was part of daughter Rih’s entourage when the two played shows together in 2010, and has just come forward with the revelation, which is sure to shake Yeezy’s fanbase to its very foundations.
It has previously been reported that Kanye only trusts one barber to maintain his shaved style – former Chicago native Ibn Jasper, who has been keeping him tidy for almost 20 years. Fenty recently told a UK tabolid:
“It’s crazy – Kanye gets a haircut every day. He pays his barber $US 500 a time. I don’t understand how that much hair gets taken off. Kanye just loves the fresh look.”
The rumoured $500-per-day works out to a cool $US 182,500 annually. (FWIW, Jasper himself has previously spoken about being on Kanye’s payroll as a “creative”, so there probably is some truth somewhere in the gooey centre of all this).
Given yesterday’s news that Kanye demands only cylindrical vases be placed in his hotel rooms, the level of anal-retentiveness necessary to have a hairdresser on permanent retainer is definitely not out of the question.
Kanye hasn’t commented yet, because why would you?
