Remi Takes Home The 2015 Australian Music Prize

Melbourne duo Remi have taken home the Cooper’s Australian Music Prize overnight, after competing head-to-head against albums by Chet Faker, #1 Dads, Total Control, Blank Realm, CW Stoneking, Laura Jean, The Peep Tempel and Caitlin Park. Remi’s album Raw x Infinity took home the 10th annual Cooper’s award, and what bloody deserving winners they are.

Not only highlighting the work of an incredible artist, the award also saw Remi walk home with a casual $30 K; funds we sure as hell hope will boost more tunes from Remi Kolawole and Sensible J. To hear the now award-winning tracks played by Remi in the flesh, hotfoot on over HERE to RSVP your place at our double denim fest in Melbourne at The Penny Black next Thursday, where Remi will provide entertainment for a night of beers and excellent sartorial choices. Beyond keen.

On Facebook last night, Remi said:

“WE ARE LOSING OUR MINDS RIGHT NOW!!!! This Coopers Amp goes out to all my homies across Australia making whatever music they want, regardless of what other people think, keep doing you. This goes out to the Entire Oz Hip Hop community, you’re a bunch of bad mofo’s and I love you. This especially goes out to all the fans who supported our shit even though it was mad different to what was going on. We love you all. Thank you Coopers. Thank you Mum and Dad and my beautiful lady Inez.”
