In a heartwarming display of the inversion of the musical universe and the unifying powers of music and/or money, the Red Hot Chili Peppers have been announced as the support act for Bruno Mars during the Greatest Show On Earth that isn’t directed by Cecil B. DeMille or doesn’t begin with the words ‘Mrs. Carter’, the Super Bowl Halftime Show.
Mars, his inoffensive band of ebullient fedora pop and winning smile will ride on the shoulders of the Hall of Famers when Super Bowl XLVIII rolls around next month on Sunday, February 2nd; hopefully also featuring this glorious performance from an Australian.
