Radiohead’s Newspaper Album is Coming Next Week

The rumoured Radio Head broadsheet, Universal Sigh, will hit ‘news stands’ around the world next week as part of a blanket marketing campaign to coincide with the official physical release of The King of Limbs.

The deets for the newspaper are cagey at this stage – but a certain amount of conjecture would suggest that the content will be in the same ilk as Yorke’s typically solemn non-sequiturs. The band have also championed the green-friendliness of the project by stipulating: “Radiohead will measure the carbon footprint of this project, and to offset the potential ecological impact we will retire the carbon credits used.” For the 6 people who know what that means, you can sleep tonight.

Since the digital release of Limbs there’s been heavy speculation from Radiohead fans and critics, who seem convinced that the diminutive 8-track LP is stage one of a larger body of work. It’s possible – especially if you consider the multifarious publicity campaign the band continues to unfurl. Keep an eye on the Guinness Book of Records for ‘Longest Album Campaign in History’.

The Universal Sigh will be available in Sydney at Redeye Records (66 King Street, Sydney) and Melbourne at Polyester (288 Flinders Lane, Melbourne) from Tuesday 29th March.
