From pay what you want price models, to user generated video clips, Radiohead 2.0 are just as likely to feature in Wired as they are to grace the pages of Pitchfork…
Yorke and Co. announced earlier this year that they would award $10,000 to the winner of an animated film clip competition. They ended up choosing four winners, for four different songs than parted with $30,000 of their own cash to fund it. Which, to put it in perspective, is like selling 600,000 copies of their album for the price that I paid (do the math, I’m a cheapskate).
The four winning clips from Kota Totori of Japan (aka Hideyuki Kota), Wolfgang Jaiser and Claus Winter of Germany (aka 16tracks), Clement Picon of France, and Tobias Stretch of the United States are below and definitely have enough visual firepower to stand up to their audio counterparts. Enjoy.
