R Kelly Made a Surprise Stop-In at Chance The Rapper’s Lollapalooza Set

Chance The Rapper was one of the chief draw cards at this year’s Lollapalooza festival, but he graciously gave over a chunk of his Sunday night headline slot to none other than R Kelly. The singer stopped by partway through to surprise the hell out of the crowd with a three-song set, including ‘Ignition (Remix)’.
R Kelly has had (justifiably, some might say) a pretty rough year. His appearance at an Ohio music festival was cancelled last month following protests from the local community regarding his history of sexual assault allegations, while the video for his Lady Gaga collaboration ‘Do What U Want’, directed by fellow creepy dude Terry Richardson, remains on the shelf.
The Huffington Post report that Chance dedicated the performance to his and Kelly’s home town of Chicago, and brought out some other local talent, including rapper Vic Mensa.
Kelly played ‘Bump ‘N Grind’, ‘The World’s Greatest’ and ‘Ignition (Remix)’, and a video from the crowd captured part of the performance. Enjoy it, if you can put Kelly’s various indictments for child pornography and soliciting minors out of your mind.
