Premiere: Rainbow Chan – “Sweet Tooth”

Rainbow Chan sounds like some ridiculous Chinese cat meme but is actually a Sydney solo artist who sits between the mellifluous textures of Bjork and the skittering electronics of a blazed out 8-bit video game. Classically trained in saxophone, piano and choral music, and fresh from winning FBi’s Northern Lights Competition, Rainbow uses the dankest of beats, field-recordings and a beguiling vocal delivery to craft intricate left-field pop songs, the first of which is debut single “Sweet Tooth”. Stream it below or download via Rainbow’s bandcamp.

Also, go see her live immediately. Her cover of The Cardigan’s “Lovefool” is immense, earnest and should be witnessed by everyone.
