Pharrell Williams Releases 24 Hour Music Video For “Happy”

Pharrell Williams caps off The Year of Pharrell Williams in true Pharrell Williams style – inventive, collaborative, in service of the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack – by releasing an ambitious new video of people losing themselves to dance that is literally 24 hours long.

Dubbed “the world’s first 24-hour music video,” 2013’s most ubiquitous pop culture entity shot a ridiculous amount of footage, put on his dancing Ice Creams, and tapped a few famous friends for his interactive new video for “Happy”, something you probably won’t be after watching this, for while the concept is novel, the performers exuberant and the cameos plentiful (Tyler the Creator, Earl Sweatshirt, Jamie Foxx, Magic Johnson, Kelly Osbourne, and Steve Carrell, among others), the song is just under four minutes in length and would have played more than 300 times in a row by the time you finish up watching this.

Got nothing to do today? Now you do.
