Pete Doherty Sings Nazi Anthem In Germany

For regular people “inappropriate behaviour” is burping at the dinner table or swearing in front of the elderly. At most you’ll offend 5 or 6 people and in a few hours all is forgotten. In Pete Doherty’s world however, a hazy crackpipe of confusion and craziness inappropriate behaviour means singing the Nazi Anthem, ‘Deutschland, Deutschland ueber alles’, to a crowd in Munich.

Doherty performed the song at Munich’s On3 Festival where he was promptly stopped by festival organizers and booed by patrons because surprise, surprise not everyone in Germany is a Nazi. Speaking with Sky News a representative of the musician said Doherty ‘wanted to celebrate his appearance in Munich by assimilating and integrating with the crowd, something he tries do wherever he goes…Peter himself is from Jewish descent and has fought against racism and fascism with numerous organisations including Love Music Hate Racism. This is a subject he feels very strongly about.’

Cool this totally justifies everything. Wait, no it doesn’t! You crazy for this one Pete.
