Peaches Live: An Intimate Video Study Of The Art Of Performing.

As the creative force behind clips for Peaches, Little Red, Gareth Liddiard, Augie March and many more, Jasmin Tarasin is well versed in the nuance of performance. In her latest project, LIVE: An intimate video study of the art of performing, an installation piece that debuts in January at the 2011 Sydney Festival, Tarasin examines performance through a series of raw videos featuring some of the biggest musicians on the planet. Shot modestly and stripped of all auxiliary furnishings – band members, lights, staging – Tarasin forces the audience to watch the artist perform. Below, a snippet of Peaches performing “Lovertits” sans-microphone, sans-band and sans-dildo.

The full video can be viewed at the world premiere in Sydney Jan 14-23, alongside rare video performances by Jarvis Cocker, Warren Ellis, Feist, Rufus Wainwright, Martha Wainwright, Juliette Lewis, Kim Salmon, Róisín Murphy, Sarah Blasko, Gareth Liddiard (The Drones), Jim James (My Morning Jacket), Lisa Kekeula (The Bellrays), Jimmie Little, Ron Peno, Dan Kelly, Laura Jean, Clare Bowditch, Julian Hamilton (Presets) and Kram.
