Paul Kelly, Everyone’s Dad, Brings The Gravy With Huge Aus Outdoor Tour

Everyone’s favourite dad who does all the dumb things Paul Kelly is bringing Christmas round to your place early this year, with a special gravy-makin’ tour to Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne this December.

The big gigs are outside affairs, much like when dad grabs a guitar out in the backyard after you’ve all stuffed yourselves silly on prawns and the roast lunch.

Think about it, beautiful balmy evenings in the summer air, having a cheeky beer or wine or whatever, taking your shoes off so you can feel the grass under your feet, while you have a big boogie to Kelly’s various hits from his massive career.

Now, dad – I mean Paul Kelly’s – not alone for these shows. He’s invited Angus & Julia Stone (your hippy aunty and uncle from Byron Bay) along for the whole tour, and then other various relatives from the big family that is the Australian music industry in for special sets at each gig.

Brisbane and Melbourne will be treated to sets from Alex Lahey (the cousin that you don’t see often but admire over Instagram), and Mojo Juju (that really cool aunt from Melb who you secretly wish would actually adopt you). Sydney gets a perfectly-summer lineup with D.D. Dumbo (the quiet and quirky brother-in-law whose house is full of weird instruments) and Angie McMahon (the older sister who somehow got all of the creative genes).

Ok the details. Tickets for Paul Kelly’s big family reunions go on sale from 10am local time on Thursday August 23, with a cheeky presale happening over here from 2pm on Monday August 20, for those of you who are the organisers of your fam.

Check out the dates and locations below, make sure you remember to bring dessert, lest Mum gets angry. Oh and don’t forget dad’s camera from the glovebox, and maybe don’t talk to him about the Swannies.
